Los Angeles-based Filipino designer Puey Quiñones is back in the local scene to present his latest creations. The talented artist, known for his distinct aesthetic and style, is tracing his roots and finding his way back to his motherland.
In his five-year stint in the US, the designer established a name while working as the creative head of Cocomelody, a brand that has risen to the forefront of the international bridal industry. Armed with his successful experience at Cocomelody, this brilliant artist is now ready to bring back his genius to what he left behind in Manila. This time, however, Puey will cater to a bigger audience.
Last May 21, he had the soft launch of his Puey Quiñones/Los Angeles at the Private Room in BGC. The by-invitation event was a promising preview of what’s to come in the international launch three months from now in Los Angeles.
The designer’s signature innovative approach to design, modern silhouettes, feminine sense and sensibilities, and classic timeless appeal with a twist has created the demand for his creations. Beyond beautiful wedding gowns, the label offers ready-to-wear dresses, separates and bespoke pieces. Puey’s works have consistently displayed his mastery in draping, hand beading and embroidery. Thus, the label is the answer to the longing for the designer’s much awaited comeback.

Home is where the heart is and Manila will always be the heart of it all. Despite being based abroad, Puey constantly shuttles back and forth, driven by his passion for fashion. The designer will soon open a showroom in Manila where his creations will be available.
Puey has definitely found his place under the sun. The international scene is his new playground where this kid can play and bring pride to our nation.
