The much-anticipated PeopleAsia magazine’s Women of Style and Substance 2018 awards night was “crazy” grand at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Taguig City with the theme taken from the book and blockbuster film Crazy Rich Asians. The well-attended gathering was filled with Manila’s most accomplished individuals from various sectors.

This year’s outstanding list of WSS awardees include Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat, Singaporean Ambassador Kok Li Peng, broadcast journalist Zen Hernandez, Go Negosyo adviser Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, Kaayo’s Marga Nograles, BPI Foundation’s Maricris San Diego, singer Morissette, Miss Universe-Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray, media executive Tootsy Angara, Advance Paper Corp. founder Connie Haw, Age Defying Solutions’ Aiza Diuco and Togetech’s Jessica Palmiano.

A-listers, politicians, personalities and celebrities dazzled and sparkled in their most forward fashion. It was a “style-crazy” night where the stars were aligned and everyone was dressed for the occasion. Some were subtle and some severe, but whatever direction the pendulum of fashion swung, they were the perfect exposition of styling.

Beyond the luxurious textures and breathtaking blings, a look wouldn’t really be complete without the personality. It brings life to the clothes and soul to the art of dressing. To quote awardee Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat, “I can only say that I am flattered to be again alongside other women who also believe that style should never be independent of substance. In fact, it should be indicative of it.”
