A night of magnificent music

An unforgettable evening of timeless music, majestic entertainment and stunning elegance went underway as the Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines Inc. (JSSP) recently held its Gala Concert at the Grand Ballroom of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City. The hotel is under the leadership of general manager Farid Schoucair.
The gala was spearheaded by chairman Monaco Consul General Fortune Ledesma, president Olga Martel and vice president and event chairperson Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa with the support of officers Tanzania consul Betty Chua, Virginia Lane, Ditas Posadas and many others. It was attended by distinguished members of the government and business sectors as well as the diplomatic corps and their spouses.
Guests enjoyed a lavish dinner and the evening’s main event, which was the musical presentation of classical songs under the baton of maestro Ruggero Barbieri. The musical performance featured the world-class Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, internationally acclaimed soprano Maria Rachelle Gerodias and celebrated Filipino tenor Randy Gilongo.
Among the evening’s beneficiaries were the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Philippine General Hospital’s Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center, Psychological Center at Marillac Hills, Shrine of Our Lady of Manaoag in Sampaloc, Manila and Virlanie Foundation.
