MANILA, Philippines – Lovers of Pinoy food came together recently to celebrate the opening of a haven for local heritage cuisine, XO46 Heritage Bistro. Ambassadors Roberto Bosch of Argentina and Julio Camarena of Mexico, and local culinary icon Glenda Baretto were on hand to open the new branch on the second level of S Maison at Conrad Hotel Manila.
XO46 Heritage Bistro, now on its sixth year, is the brainchild of restaurateurs and Filipino food advocates Andrew and Sandee Masigan. The restaurant is the perfect place to view the famed Manila Bay sunset, gather for family reunions and take guests for dinner.
The new restaurant features three dining rooms, each with its own distinct characteristics. The Intramuros Room is cozy and casual with brick walls and capiz windows. The walls are treated with banig and other natural fibers as wall coverings. The Kalayaan Room, on the other hand, is more stately with white trims and accessories. A gold and white chandelier illuminates the area making it look quite elegant.
The third dining area is the Stateroom — a private enclave with an heirloom wooden table for 16. The dining experience in the Stateroom aims to bring back that genteel era of formal dinners for heads of state.
Diners can opt to try XO46 Heritage Bistro’s “Philippines On A Plate – The Food Tour” or the “Aguinaldo Dinner” in the Stateroom.
