Party Princess (A transformation in 20 minutes!)

UPTOWN DOWNTOWN - Joanne Zapanta-Andrada - The Philippine Star

It takes about 20 minutes (we timed it!) to transform from plain to Party Princess. Makeup artist Jhonathan Ocsan gives us his step-by-step routine to getting event-ready!

1. Start off with a primer in order to even out skin and give makeup a longer staying power. We used L’Oréal True Match Blur Cream.

2. Apply liquid foundation and even it out using a damp sponge. We used L’Oréal True Match in Ivory.

3. Place a base eyeshadow powder on the lid. It is best to use an earth tone like the Terracotta shade by Kryolan.

4. Further define the eyes by using a darker shade like Kryolan’s Burgundy. Make sure to blend carefully with a clean brush.

5. Define the eyebrows using a brow brush and soft brown shadow (we used a Soft Brown shade by Kryolan). To prevent powder fallout, keep the brow brush damp before mixing with the brow powder.

6. To lighten dark circles under the eye, and to clean up possible powder fall off, put concealer (we used Kryolan for this) just below the eyes.

7. Give the cheeks a rosy glow using a soft pink blush like Kryolan blush powder. Apply the powder to the apples of the cheeks.

8. Create highlights using luminizers like the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer to lift the eyes. Apply on the brow bone and make sure to blend very carefully.

9. It can never be stressed enough — false eyelashes add an incredible amount of drama. We used MAC eyelashes.

10. Lastly, apply lipstick in a pink shade (we used L’Oréal in La Vie En Rose) to finish the look.
