(Ed’s note: Cat Arambulo-Antonio gave birth to baby girl Alana on Feb. 8.)
MANILA, Philippines - If there has been anyone as of late who’s made pregnancy look like a glamorous breeze of a journey, it’s blogger and interior designer Cat Arambulo-Antonio.
Even while pregnant with her third child, she nails every social event with seemingly off-the-runway looks. So, one has to wonder, can the regular pregnant woman pull off Cat’s personal style with similar ease and confidence?
We asked the former fashion stylist to share tips on pregnancy dressing and grooming. Here’s what she said:
1. Early in the pregnancy when it’s a bulge and not a baby bump, wear clothes that don’t accentuate your belly. I personally prefer high-waisted skirt or pants because my waist is so much smaller than the belly bulge.
2. Wear wedges. On fat days, I like to look and feel tall. But since not all pregnant women can wear heels, I prefer to take the safer route and put on bell-bottom pants and wear a nice tall wedge to pair with it.
3. With your doctor’s permission, you can still have manicures and have your hair roots dyed. Just make sure to use products that are organic like Aveda, which has an amazing selection you can choose from! Highlights are also another alternative because they don’t touch the scalp.
4. It is not a secret that acne is one of the top problems that hit women during pregnancy. Get that pregnancy glow by practicing safe skin care. Make sure to check with your doctor before having any skin treatments. I go to The Aivee Institute every week for a regular cleaning to nourish my skin. This regimen also helps control my hormonal acne. Also, hydrate yourself! Drink lots of water to clear out the skin.
5. There are a lot of harsh ingredients lurking in our dresser, vanity kits and bathrooms so pregnant women should be extra careful of what products they use. Right now, I use beauty products that are specially formulated by The Aivee Institute.
