The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Bobby Mabanta and Bololoy Misa (third and second from left) lead in donating football shoes and uniform to kids, ages eight to 15, belonging to the Muntinlupa United Football Club, a non-profit football club founded in 2005 by Leah Madrid. The donation is part of their school batch’s advocacy to provide education, nourishment and opportunity to children through sports scholarships and feeding programs.

With Mabanta and Misa are Mike Roces (extreme left) and Gerry Aquino (extreme right). They belong to the Ateneo batch of GS ‘67, HS ‘71 and College ‘75/‘76, also known as the King of the Blues (KOB).

The vision of the Muntinlupa United Football Club is to bring out the best in every individual. It aims to accomplish a bond that brings out the winner in every player.

Its missions include reaching out to individuals who have a genuine love for the game, especially those without the financial capacity to do so; connecting people of similar interest, blurring the line of pride and prejudice; instilling discipline, developing character and honing the skills of every player; and providing a peaceful and safe atmosphere, where everyone is equal, during games and even after games.
