Life through a lens
The 87th anniversary celebration of the Camera Club of the Philippines (CCP) held at the Grand Ballroom of the InterContinental Manila served as a grand homecoming of sorts with its unprecedented, almost 100-percent attendance by members. It was an opportunity to rekindle old friendships and memories that served as the foundation of what the club is today. The oldest camera club in Asia and the only one in the country with a pedigree, the CCP is now headed by Fred Yuson as president.
A highlight of the evening was the launch of a coffee-table book Our Philippines: Intimate Images. A portion of the net proceeds from the sale of the first printed edition will be used to support the projects of the Philippine Cancer Society.
During the event, the club’s vanguards — lifetime members who have been with the club for more than 25 years — were also given recognition. Each received a portrait shot by the club’s Batch 2010, which is headed by Yuson. Service awardees for five, 10, 15 and 20 years were also recognized.
A brand-new 2015 Honda Brio, a Herman Miller Eames Lounge and Ottoman, a Leica camera and luxury watches were also raffled off, adding more fun and excitement to the whole affair.
Congratulations!
