What is summer without prints?
The global fashion’s trend in mind the past seasons is here to stay. Yes, prints will even stay until Holiday 2014. The celebratory toast to the look of now has gone beyond a statement and is moving towards a classic direction.
Decades ago, only one print made it as the overall trend per season. Today, forecasts constantly reveal a handful or more to choose from.
This season, the parade of prints is showcased by prestigious designer brands such as Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Alexander McQueen, Dior, Jil Sander, Christopher Kane, Giles, Versace, Armani and more. Evidently, the plethora of prints is a radical point of view towards minimalism, which is holding its ground.
The captivating diversity of prints in the world of style is a realistic offering to contemporary dressing. Prints are no longer limited to all the brights, dainty and nautical. There are also dark prints that move into casual wear with elegance and sophistication. The new take on prints presents a variety of looks fitting for the times.
In the Philippines, local retail embraces this modern adaptation. Local brand Kikay presents its Summer 2014 collection that echoes the latest chic appreciation. Byzantine art, designer scarf, dark and light floral prints simply pay homage to this must-have spectacle.
Chic marks of style are seemingly proportioned beautifully in both short and great lengths. Modern silhouettes in volume define relaxed comfort. The allure of Kikay’s up-to-date collection reveals a spectrum of summer favorites defining on-the-radar chic fun and refined femininity.
This summer’s summary of prints is a retrospective but a visionary take on visual perspectives. Past and present references are fashioned anew into the contemporary. Trendsetting prints have gotten global fashion’s stamp of approval and have become essential to today’s everyday wear.
