‘Auction with a 2wist’
The Main Lounge of Manila Polo Club was packed to the rafters during “An Auction with a 2wist,†the Carewell (Cancer Resource and Wellness) Community Foundation Inc.’s major fundraiser.
Over 400 guests enjoyed beautiful music by the Manila Symphony Orchestra, exquisite cocktail fare, a sumptuous buffet dinner, and elegant wines as the silent and live auction of over 80 exciting luxury items like artwork, jewelry, luxury items, and weekend getaways went on.
The event was initially meant to benefit the programs for persons afflicted with cancer, however, in the light of the recent destruction wrought by Super Typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas, Carewell, led by its co-founder and executive director Robert Suntay, decided to donate 50 percent of the net auction proceeds to support the survivors of the typhoon’s impact.
It was a wonderful, heartwarming affair with the help of generous sponsors Miladay Jewels, Parkway Cancer Centre Singapore, MedCentral Health System, The Straits Wine Company and the Manila Polo Club.
