They all fly high

“Flying High” was a beautiful show of gratitude.

In light of recent calamities and natural disasters, Reach International School and Child Star International wanted to show their appreciation for all the help our countrymen have received from all over the world. In the utmost desire of school directress Cynthia Tinsay-Gonzalez and her daughter Issa Gonzalez to express their gratefulness to the international community, they mounted “Flying High.”

“Flying High” is all about the joy of traveling. Nothing can beat the thrill of unique experiences encountered while travelling. You can live in an exciting city with wonderful people, have a satisfying job and still feel the itch to leave your comfort zone. Exploring new territories shows people how the other half lives, what’s normal to them is extraordinary to us. It opens our eyes to various similarities and differences between cultures. These new insights enrich our lives, giving a new appreciation for wherever home is and a broader, more understanding view of the world at large.

This is the spirit of “Flying High,” which is appreciation through education. The show took the audience around the world without them having to leave their seats.

The show was brilliantly written by one of the parents of the students, Dolores Cheng. It was lovingly choreographed and directed by Marites Bichara-del Rosario.

Gratitude, indeed, was felt that night when the students and teachers of the schools and the whole production staff were able to pay tribute to different cultures through song and dance.
