A Spanish Christmas affair
MANILA, Philippines - The Spanish Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (La Cámara) held its last Economic Briefing for 2013 at the residence of Spanish Ambassador Jorge Domecq in Forbes Park, Makati City. The event coincided with La Cámara’s “Christmas Cocktails†for its members and guests.
The event’s guest of honor was Science and Technology Secretary Mario Montejo who came with his wife Maria Rosario. Montejo gave a rousing talk about the current projects of the DOST. The Chamber president Javier Warleta of Mapfre Insular gave a warm introduction.
Spanish Chamber executive director Bárbara Apraiz and administrative and finance officer Carlo Rojas organized and spearheaded the event.
Seen at the scene of revelry were Maria Vidoera, Javier Escat, Greggory Kittelson of Kittelson and Carpo, Andrew and Sandee Masigan of Advent Hospitality, Francisco Romero Milan of MAERSK Global Services, Ricardo Bruno Antunes of Asia Brewery Pascual, Manuel Guillermo of Ksearch Asia, Daniel Aliaga and Guillermo Bassols of Fuego Hotels and Properties, Chaco Molina of Fundacion Santiago, Jose Berenguer-Testa of Mondial Tours, Edgar Prates of Sante Fe Relocation Services and Pacholo Garcia-Morera.
Members and guests were enchanted by the wines from Barcino and brandy from Emperador Deluxe. Traditional Spanish tapas dishes were served.
Members of the Spanish Chamber should expect more for the coming year as more events are planned and new services are being offered by the Chamber. Next year will be the 115th year of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, a milestone for the very first chamber of commerce in the country.
