Dress like a goddess

The art of drapery is a study in perfection. To master the discipline is a continuous process of trial-and-error that entails hard work, perseverance and dedication. Most importantly, in this art, talent comes in as the soul and thread that stitch everything together to form a creation.

In the Philippines, young designer Maureen Disini is a promising talent in local fashion. She entered the design scene last year when she successful launched her first collection, which was an outstanding interpretation of modern drapery.

Disini’s classic silhouettes take an up-to-date twist in luxe fabrication, refreshing designs and meticulous and artistic wraps in endearing fascination. Classic and neutral colors become the canvas to the brilliance of her contemporary designs.

Disini’s pieces celebrate femininity and sexiness. Evident  in her designs is an underlying statement of simplicity and elegance. Her limited collections are ethereal and goddess-like. Sophistication reigns in seamless masterpieces that display effortless classicism. Multiple Choice had the privilege to shoot her works at Flower Island Resort, Palawan with globally-renowned brand Jewelmer. The beauty of nature at its finest became the backdrop as it complemented the allure and clarity of Disini’s designs and talent.

The future is bright for this passionate artist whose passion for fashion is all about the inspirational drive for higher learning. Taking her art into a new level, the designer is set to further her studies with a summer program on vintage bridal wear at Central Saint Martins in London.

The local landscape is promising with designers like Maureen Disini as they bring hope to the future of Philippine fashion.
