Certina-DS Action Diver
MANILA, Philippines - Eye-catching, sporty and full of verve, the DS Action Diver automatic is a logical extension of the previous DS Action series of extreme-sport timepieces by the Swiss sportswatch brand. Uncompromising in both appearance and function, it is produced along the stringent ISO 6425 specification for diver’s watches. Masculine in every respect, it brings together a dynamic, modern design and a tradition of exceptionally resistant construction, fit for serious exploration at an affordable price.
The new DS Action Diver automatic stands out instantly; thanks to its 43.2-mm brushed steel case and bold, striking bezel. Broad, large-toothed and easy-to-handle in all settings, its Superluminova-treated surface and oversized numerals ensure clear reading even in deep underwater darkness. Additional amounts of Superluminova on its wide hands, indices and on its central seconds hand further enhance readability against the watch’s contrasting black dial. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating protects this impressive timepiece from all underwater perils.
The DS Action Diver is equipped with an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, for precise and worry-free timing, with hours, minutes, central seconds and date. Its reliability is guaranteed by the DS Concept, as well as production techniques in accordance with the ISO 6425 specification for diver’s watches, as confirmed by the inscription “Diver’s watch 200 m/ISO 6425” on the dial face. With its screw-down crown and case back, the DS Action Diver can handle pressures up to 20 bar (200 m). In a tasteful wink back at history, the case back also sports a turtle logo, symbol of extreme water resistance in Certina timepieces in the ‘50s and ‘60s. A beautifully detailed three-row brushed stainless steel bracelet with a folding safety buckle and diving extension ensure that your DS Action Diver stays with you at all times, and a protected screw-down crown, monogrammed with the letters “DS,” keeps it safe from impact and inadvertent handling.
A second stainless steel version is available, with a black dial and moulded rubber strap with folding safety buckle and diving extension. Two additional models are also available, with titanium case, anthracite bezel ring and matching sunray finish dial; one with a titanium bracelet and another with a rubber strap, both equipped with a folding safety buckle and diving extension. Titanium is especially well suited to diving environments, for its high corrosion resistance and lightness.
Bulova-Precisionist Chronograph
The only chronograph in the world to combine 1/1,000th second timekeeping, 10-second per year accuracy and chronograph timing of up to 12 hours, the Bulova Precisionist Chronograph is an unprecedented mix of high-performance precision and unique Precisionist accuracy.
One of the most successful recent introductions in the timekeeping industry, Precisionist made its debut at BaselWorld 2010. Developed by Bulova in cooperation with its parent company, the Citizen Watch Company (Japan) Ltd., Precisionist offers a proprietary three-prong quartz crystal in place of the standard two-prong version. This landmark technology produces a quartz vibration frequency of 262.144 kHz, eight times greater than the traditional two-prong quartz crystal and the highest of any watch available today.
The new Precisionist Chronograph shares the original collection’s remarkable technology, maintaining accuracy globally to within 10 seconds a year and expanding the Precisionist’s capabilities with an extraordinarily precise chronograph offering timing to the thousandth of a second over a 12-hour timeframe. Design teams from Bulova worked with the support of engineers from Citizen Watch Company (Japan) Ltd., dedicating themselves to extending the achievement of the breakthrough Precisionist movement. Technical standards were validated at every step of the development process, with verification set to continue throughout production.
The design of this unique watch maintains the elegance of the original Precisionist styles, including the signature continuously sweeping second hand. Using the intricate, architectural case of the original Bulova Precisionist Champlain Collection, a proven retail success, the watch includes the multi-layer dimensional dial characteristic of all Precisionist models, with the addition of four subdials — a dual-duty 1/10- and 1/100-second counter, hour and minute measures, and a distinctive 1/1,000-second track with retrograde indicator. The continuously sweeping second hand measures seconds in chronograph timing mode. This intricacy makes extraordinarily precise timing easy and logical. Users simply push the button at 8 o’clock to move into chronograph timing mode, then push the button at 2 o’clock to begin up to 12hours of chronograph measurement. At the desired interval, another push of the 2 o’clock button gives separate, easy to read measurements of hours, minutes, seconds, 1/10-seconds, 1/100-seconds and 1/1,000-seconds.
Crafted of solid stainless steel, each Precisionist Chronograph also includes a tachymeter and calendar and offers water resistance to 300 meters.
