A true 'Caballero'
“A gentleman is one who puts more into the world than he takes out.” — George Bernard Shaw
The Embassy of the Dominican Republic recently celebrated its national day at the grand ballroom of the luxurious Dusit Thani Manila.
A highlight of the evening was the awarding of the Medal in the Order of Merit of Duarte, Sanchez and Mella in the grade of Caballero to Dominican Republic Consul General George Litton Jr. The principal order of the Dominican Republic is conferred to both civilians and people in the military for distinguished service. Dominican Republic Ambassador Hans Dannenberg Castellanos, on behalf of Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernandez, presented the distinguished medal to George during the Independence Day celebration. Among the VIP guests were Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines and dean of the Diplomatic Corps Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Jose Brillantes and representatives from various foreign consulates.
Congratulations, George! We wish you success in all your undertakings!
