Welcome back, Lady Q!
“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls.” — Joseph Campbell
My dear and special friend of over 55 years, international jetsetter and philanthropist Nene “Lady Q” Quimson was given a “bienvenida” dinner by yours truly at The Tivoli, the multi-awarded continental restaurant of the best business hotel this side of Makati — the Mandarin Oriental, Manila.
Joining us were British Ambassador Stephen Lillie, industrialist Ronnie Concepcion, former Ambassadors Jesus “Chuching” Tambunting and Lani Bernardo, banker OV Espiritu and their respective spouses. Everyone was thrilled over the exquisite one-of-a-kind menu prepared by The Tivoli executive sous chef Remi Vercelli and were all astounded by the dessert finale. The affair was made more memorable by Mandarin Oriental, Manila GM Mark Bradford’s personalized touch.
The gracious widow of the former Philippine Ambassador to the Court of St. James, Ambassador John Quimson, Lady Q maintains a beautiful home in Ascot, England.
Welcome back, Lady Q!
A celebration of life
A woman of substance and generosity, Matilde “Diding” Robles recently ushered in two important celebrations — her birthday and the 34th alumni homecoming of the Quezon City Medical Center Nursing Class of 1978, which she has successfully chaired.
Diding is a nursing graduate and the wife of Sta. Lucia Realty & Development president Exequiel Robles. Hundreds of guests and alumni from all over the world gathered at the La Breza Tower, Tomas Morato in Quezon City. The affair had everyone reliving treasured memories and catching up with their distant lives. Guests had an unforgettable time, enjoying the company they had missed while dancing to the famous music band Spirit of ‘67 and reminiscing the sentimental favorites and captivating hits of singers Marco Sison and Jenine Desiderio. It was truly a great and enjoyable night for everyone present.
More birthdays to come Diding and congratulations on this very memorable homecoming!
