MANILA, Philippines - We now live in a fast-paced world where we often find ourselves needing more time than we actually have. People tend to become so busy at making a living that they already have no time left to make a life. We rush here and there and eventually get trapped in the rat race. Between our time for work, family and recreation, most of us barely have enough left for regular exercise.
Skechers the second largest footwear brand in the US realizes this so it developed its Shape-Ups technology. With this line, the footwear brand introduces a revolutionary line of fitness footwear designed to help you get more in less time whether you prefer walking, working out in the gym or running for your form of exercise.
Shape-Ups technology simulates walking or running on soft ground such as sand to give the shoe wearer a wide array of benefits, which, according to research of the Skechers team, include weight loss, toning of the leg, calf and buttock muscles, posture improvement, back strengthening, reduction of stress on knee and ankle joints, tightening of the abdominal muscles, increase in blood circulation and cardiovascular health improvement.
Just recently, Skechers Philippines reinforced this global dedication on fitness by introducing Chinggay Andrada, one of the fitness trainers in the local edition of the hit reality show Biggest Loser and a certified professional fitness expert, as the brand’s spokesperson. Skechers also introduced a new kind of lightweight running shoe for active enthusiasts and serious athletes the Skechers ProSpeed SRR.
“I want to share with the people my love for exercise that has led me to pursue a career in fitness,” says Chinggay, who has been in the fitness industry for almost 20 years and who chooses “not to have the perfect body but a functional body.” She furthers that it is quite a welcome blessing that Skechers shares in her advocacy of helping people lead a more active lifestyle.
Chinggay stresses the important role one’s pair of shoes plays in one’s fitness program. “I’m always all about the shoes, making it work for you. A pair of shoes can make or break your training program. If you get the wrong pair of shoes for your training, injuries can come about. Secondly, you don’t wanna have a foot problem,” says Chinggay, who wears size 7 1/2 shoes and has at least eight pairs of Skechers in her collection. “As you know, Skechers has crossed over from fashion to fitness. Now, you can be both fashionable and an athlete in your Skechers.”
Katrina Ong, Skechers marketing communications officer, adds: “This new footwear technology by Skechers will greatly help in getting more Filipinos to run more comfortably and efficiently whether they’re taking on their first 3K or training for a marathon.”
She furthers that ProSpeed SRR features the patented Smart Shoe Technology, the rocker-bottom that guides runners into mid-foot strike position. This mid-foot strike design transforms the energy of impact, through the Kinetic Return System, into forward motion with every stride. It guides the body into a position that transforms impact into elastic (reusable) energy. Katrina, who used to join marathons and now enjoys recreational runs, says it’s the key to efficient running. The Skechers ProSpeed SRR is also lightweight due to the Resalyte cushioning, which helps absorb G-forces at ground contact to reduce impact when running.
Katrina concludes, “The shoes literally give runners a spring in their step as they feel a distinctive bounce forward upon toe-off or push off.”
