Jewelry is something personal. Aside from being a girl’s best friend (not limited to diamonds, shoes and bags) because of the joy it brings, jewelry is associated with history and tradition, success and empowerment. The list of its essence seems endless and every stone has a story to tell beyond a lifetime of fascination. Tales of sparkle can symbolize anything and everything of importance to the beholder. Jewelry is a reflection of one’s personal taste and style. From the choice of stone to cut, style and color, it is a representation of oneself and a reflection of one’s vanities.
The Philippines is a style landscape where jewelry brands and labels thrive. These treasure troves (deeply rooted in cultural and traditional beginnings) seem endless from the dependable “alajera” who come to our homes to the most commercial, which we see in malls and hotels. Nowadays, there is a vast range of these precious adornments and a new brand rises in the local scene as the next to watch out for, Vero.
Vero (Italian word for true or genuine) prides itself as modern fine jewelry with an edge. The brand’s glittering creations shine with an array of both precious and semi-precious stones that are highly appraised and set in handmade 14k gold. Its contemporary designs are fused with the highest grade of quality of materials. With components sourced from all over the world and collected through the years, these ultimate finds are fine treasures that make its own mark of distinction. Bold, unconventional and striking, Vero has a unique statement with a twist that stands out from the standard norms of jewelry design.
Vero started in Cebu way back in 2003 when interior designer Gladys Young was asked by her mom’s friends to redesign their jewelry. Challenged by the task at hand, her passion for design and fascination with stones carried out her imaginations into reality. Inspired by interesting fabric patterns, grills, furniture, architectural structures and the likes, she has come into her own aesthetics and has been making each sketch come to life. She also admires brilliant works of renowned jewelry designers such as Andy Cooperman, Petra Class and Jennifer Trask. Through the years of mastering her artistry, the designer has gained a reputation in redesigning and recreating pieces of art. They are reflections of their owner’s personalities, character and lifestyle.
Vero is meant to be an experience between a woman and her jewelry. The pieces are personalized and customized with a phenomenal statement of uniqueness. Pushing the envelope, the brand is compelled to take both design and style to the next level. As a result, its one-of-a-kind masterpieces shine on with so much passion like crown jewels displaying their full regalia. In life, there are precious and priceless things left unsaid, and these unspoken truths are glittering testaments to last a lifetime.
