Prominent figures from the diplomatic, social and business communities recently took time off their busy schedules to enjoy a pleasurable night of fine dining and wine pairing at Caruso, the authentic Italian restaurant in Makati. The pleasant Caruso owner and visionary textile magnate of Italy Emilio Mina flew in to Manila to personally join affable Caruso co-owner Dario Gardini in hosting a lovely dinner for high-profile personalities including former Ambassador to the Court of St. James Jesus “Chuching” Tambunting, former Ambassador to Washington Albert Del Rosario, business tycoon Ronnie Concepcion and wife, alabaster beauty Menchu Concepcion, APEC Plans chairman and president Noel Oñate and former solicitor general lawyer Frank Chavez.
It was indeed a marvelous evening as guests mingled, socialized and indulged in delectably prepared Italian dishes such as garganelli ai funghi porcini (homemade pasta with porcini mushroom), tortelloni emiliani ripieni al burro e salvia (homemade tortelloni with spinach and ricotta cheese) and gamberoni al chardonnay (King prawns with special wine sauce). Sparkling, premium Italian wines like Prosecco Brut, Sauvignon Friuli and Rosso Primitivo also had everyone toasting to a truly memorable night of excellent company, great food and soothing music at Caruso!
