The garden of the Philippine Embassy in Madrid was abloom with flowers and filled with very special guests who all had an enjoyable evening at the lavish gathering in celebration of the Philippine Independence Day and the Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day. The occasion also served as a despedida for the hardworking Philippine Ambassador to Spain Ana Ines de Sequera-Ugarte. The cool evening had guests of honor Sen. Edgardo Angara and wife Baby enjoying the company of Mari Borao, Monica Zobel, Hope Ledesma, Marga and Gina Aboitiz.
Cheers to the Philippines and Spain and to Ambassador Ugarte’s wonderful term!
Dancing for a cause
The Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. (PTSI) recently held its centennial celebration through a dinner-dance party at the Kalayaan Hall of Club Filipino in Greenhills. Considered as one of PTSI’s major fund raising activities for the year, the laudable project was sponsored by the 2010 Anti-TB Educational and Fund Campaign spearheaded by three generous women — general chairperson Nelia Gonzalez together with professionals division chairperson governor Baby Ortiz and special events division chairperson Olive Lopez Padilla. The event successfully raised funds that will be used to support the society’s various services in the prevention of tuberculosis and to further develop its research and training capabilities. The affair culminated with the raffling off a brand new car.

Happy to be at Gymboree
Gymboree Greenbelt 5, an authority in providing early childhood education through the diverse programs and flexible enrolment schemes, led by its gracious managing director Kathy Yu, celebrated its first anniversary recently at The Gallery of Greenbelt 5. Hosted by the Gymboree teachers, everyone present enjoyed the carnival party, the colorful decorations, the yummy party food and, of course, the company of the loyal members of Gymboree. The teachers also facilitated a GOTG (Gymboree-On-The-Go) class as the main event, which brought truth to the saying “Happy to be at Gymboree!”
