Vicky Morales: A wish come true
MANILA, Philippines - If it’s multi-awarded broadcast journalist Victoria “Vicky” Morales’ turn to make a wish now, what will she ask for?
“Well, I wish that I would be able to have a happy baby and more time for my twins,” beams the beautiful and talented host of the heart-warming reality wish-giving TV show Wish Ko Lang.
Vicky is currently two months pregnant with her and husband, businessman-lawyer King Reyno’s third baby. They waited for seven years to have their twins Leon Alfonso and Filippo Luis, who are now two years old.
“We want to raise our children to be God-fearing. We also want them to be able to help in the community and nation-building,” Vicky says.
The sweet-faced TV host is a familiar face on TV every Saturday, playing a modern-day fairy godmother who grants the wishes of the less privileged. She grants the wishes of estranged families dreaming of happy reunions and even the wishes of dying people. Like a shining light, Vicky would come to them and offer more than just the material things, livelihood or scholarships but most importantly, a renewed sense of hope and love.
Vicky has won the PMPC Star Awards for Best Public Service Program host in 2006 and 2007. She also won the UP Gandingan 2008 and 2010 Award for Best Public Service Program host.
Just as important to her is her family. Vicky says that more than being a career woman, she is first and foremost a doting mom and a supportive wife. Through the years, she has learned to juggle her career and family life and has become the ultimate multi-tasker. At this point, her goal is to continue to balance her time between her family and career.
“I would like to be a hands-on mother as long as I could. I would like to give them all the time they need. I want to accompany them to their visits to the pediatrician. I just really want to be there for them all the time,” Vicky says.
Vicky’s other goal, being a broadcast journalist, is to be able to help in the success of the first automated elections this May.
She also supports women’s rights and would like to see strong pro-women measures passed into law.
In all facets of her life, whether career or family, one thing is for sure, Vicky gives a 101 percent of herself all the time. To her family and fans, and all those she has touched, Vicky herself is a wish come true.
