It's time for 'Ole'!

To start on its 31st year of exciting events that promote culture and the arts, the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) led by energetic president Minerva Tanseco, hardworking event chairman Gilda Salonga, and concurrent director and Far Eastern University (FEU) executive director of President’s Committee on Culture Martin E.Z. Lopez recently hosted the exciting Flamenco event and fundraising project, entitled Ole! Held at the Little Theatre of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the grand affair ushered in ladies who came in their elegant Spanish and Latin-inspired long gowns and the gentlemen in their dapper suits and barongs. It was indeed a night of artistic performances as everyone was treated to a fiery and amazing Ole number by the world-class El Nuevo Flamenco during the “Do Theater.” Afterwards, guests moved out to the “After Theatre,” where they indulged in delectable, heavy cocktails at the lobby while surrounded by the singing trovadores and cantores, and the dancing jalejistas doing the paso doble. On the same occasion, FCCP also launched its latest venture, the “Early Awareness and Exposure Program,” which benefits elementary schoolchildren, providing them with early exposure and education to art, culture and heritage. During the celebration, benevolent individuals and institutions were honored for their support and dedication to FCCP’s noble and worthy endeavors including FCCP honorary chairman Imelda Marcos, San Miguel Corp.’s lawyer Cynthia De Castro, Ed and Carrie Bautista, PAGCOR chairman Efraim Genuino and vice president Dodie King, and TAM Group CEO Chito Cabalu among others.
