The über sexy tousled hairstyle is one of the trends this coming season. This “just-got-out-of-bed” look never seems to be out of style. A simple outfit can look trendy and sexy with this “effortless” hairstyle. If you look at the image, it seems very easy but it can be quite tricky if you try it. As I always say, practice, practice and practice. So, let’s get started.
First things first — your products. You have to start with your shampoo. If you have dry hair, use a shampoo and conditioner that will help hydrate and moisturize your hair. If you have oily hair, then skip the conditioner but make sure you use the right kind of shampoo that has enough moisture so your hair will get that “nourishment” it needs. If you use the right basic products, then you’re on your way to a fabulous tousled hair without weighing it down with mousse or gel or hairspray.
Shampoo your hair twice or three times to get the “dirt” out. Then condition if needed. If your hair is very dry, then I suggest you use a leave-on conditioner before drying your hair. Or you can also use a styling product that will protect your hair from the heating iron and blow dryer. But make sure not to overdo with the products because they will weigh the hair down and your curls won’t hold all through the night. Remember that our weather is humid so there will be a chance that the curls won’t hold all night if you use the wrong products.
After applying your product, be it a leave-on or heat protector, blow dry your hair. After drying, section your hair. Now, this requires patience. If you want this look to work, then you’ll have to section your hair so that the curls will hold longer. Using your curling iron, curl your hair by section.
When you have finished curling your hair, give your head a shake and you have just successfully created a very chic and effortless disheveled hairstyle. Go out, have fun, enjoy your New Year “do” and just simply give your head a bit of a “shake” every now and then to “retouch” the waves before you get ready to rumple.
