The most exciting Oktoberfest celebration in Cebu
“Always remember that I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me.” — Winston Churchill
Barrels of free-flowing beer literally filled hundreds of beer kegs and mugs as the five-star The Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, in partnership with the The Gustavian restaurant, recently celebrated the grand annual German beer festival — Oktoberfest! For the fourth year in a row, the hotel’s affable GM Hans Hauri graciously treated Cebu’s high society to endless supply of draft beer and a sumptuous German feast of authentic Frankfurter meat pies and Sauerkraut, Roast Pork Knuckles, Werrswurst, Rheinisher and Sauerbraten, sinful desserts such as Black Forest Cake and Strudels, plus an assortment of German sausages and Bavarian delights prepared by The Gustavian restaurant executive chef Dietmar Dietrich. Aside from the foot-stomping “Oompah” music and great entertainment by the Centerfold Band fronted by singer Chris Ducker, guests enjoyed the fun games including the first ever KEG-A-LYMPICS in Cebu, organized by the Gustavian Lifestyle Club on Nivel Hills.
Cheers!
Festival for a cause
The Monaco Charity Film Festival (MCFF) celebrated its fourth annual Charity Event for the benefit of the Virlanie Foundation Inc. (VFI). The week-long festival, which helps a new breed of film makers find ways to finance and distribute their films, ended with a Big Gala Dinner with special guest Her Royal Highness Princess NaufAl Saudour in Fairmont, Monaco. The highlight of the grand dinner was an award given to esteemed lawyer Romela Mosqueda Bengzon for her active support to the VFI.
