“They teach you there’s a boundary line to music.
But, man, there’s no boundary line to art.”— Charlie Parker
A truly multi-sensoral experience based on a double CD album entitled Only Love Remains by Renaissance man George Sison recently unfolded at the Manila Peninsula’s Rigodon Ballroom. The concert featured some of George’s songs that were performed by premier classical balladeer Bo Cerrudo and international concert pianist Raul Sunico. Thespians Lloyd Young and Roselyn Perez recited George’s lyrics which were mostly adapted from his painting-poems. This fabulous show was directed and conceived by the consummate theater director Freddie Santos with Rodel Colmenar conducting the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra. The beneficiaries of the evening affair were Baby Arenas’ project to build a church in Malasiqui, Pangasinan and the New Thought Foundation for Self-Empowerment where Zhang Chang Guo (one of China’s finest artists who weaves silk into portraits) pledged $1 million to. Romance, beautiful music and kind-heartedness filled the evening.
Congratulations, George!
Celebrating with family
Philippine National Red Cross governor Leonida “Baby” Bayani-Ortiz recently celebrated her birthday with a simple dinner to spend quality time with her family and friends at the Hotel InterContinental’s Prince Albert Restaurant. It was an intimate gathering worthy of a kind and benevolent lady of substance.
Happy birthday, governor Baby!
