French wine and ooh la las
“Fill your life with as many moments and experiences of joy and passion as you humanly can. Start with one experience and build on it.” — Marcia Wieder
Relishing an evening of French culture, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, the top business and leisure destination of choice in the Queen City of the South, recently hosted Soiree Beaujolais, one of the most frivolous and animated rituals in the world. The worldwide tradition featured fine wines from the first grape harvest of the season in France. For the second year in a row, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu takes part in this biggest celebration of the much-awaited French wine event of the year.
Held at the majestic Grand Ballroom, affable general manager Hans Hauri welcomed guests to Cebu City’s most glittering social gathering and treated them to authentic French cuisine and rich amounts of red wine made from Gamay grapes especially produced in the Beaujolais region of France. With the presence of Le Club president Bernard Flour and Soiree Beaujolaise co-founder Philip Gaultier, the festivities began with the ceremonial uncorking of the first bottle by Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia, Marco Polo Plaza Davao general manager Stanley Lau, Tourism Undersecretary Phineas Alburo and Honorary Consul to France Michel Lhuillier. Vive le France! Mabuhay, Philippines!
Fun, laughter and sweet memories
The refined laidback atmosphere of the Manila Polo Club was the perfect setting for the ever so gracious Ambassador Isabel Wilson to host a warm welcome dinner for former Philippine Ambassador to Spain Lani Bernardo together with his lovely wife Conchitina. It was truly a joyful occasion as close friends and special guests got together for an evening of fun, laughter and sweet memories.
Cheers!
