Feng shui man

A SPIRITED SOUL - Jeannie E. Javelosa -

I am very conscious about living and working with energies. I become very aware when the energies around me change either for the positive higher and lighter vibrations; or the lower, more negative and heavier ones. I do this when I read and counsel people, when I come into a new space, and even just when I meet people. I know all of us have this innate skill of reading energies, but many of us either do not trust our own sensing, and or are just plainly blind to the fact that energies around us fluctuate, have to be raised, cleaned or transformed. There are energies carried by people, energies that roam in non-physical forms like spirit beings. I have also “accidentally” (or perhaps synchronicity brings us together) come across many other “energy readers” who are blessed with the gift of inner sight. There is Nonoy, who one day woke up to see angels all around him and thus became involved in angel reading, reading energies in the angelic vibrational frequency; there is Bernie, whose specialization is reading souls of people in comas; Marison, who works with subtle astral body energies to align the unseen sheath of the energy body that surrounds our physical body. There is Boy, who got cured after a long intense illness and found out he could work energies in people and heal them physically. Then there is William, who works and harmonizes with the energies of a physical space. Yes, a feng shui man.

The words feng shui literally translates as “wind-water” in English. Most of today’s feng shui schools teach that it is the practice of arranging objects in a space to achieve harmony with one’s environment. Many people believe that feng shui has an effect on health, wealth and personal relationships though there are still many critics around who pooh-pooh the idea, preferring to refer to feng shui as a pseudoscience. But its popularity today cannot be ignored. Just see all the stores that have spouted around town selling correctional objects for the home. Major property builders now bring in feng shui consultants, even including their names in marketing collaterals. In the US, the term “space cleaner” has recently been heard, and again, this practice finds its roots in feng shui, now westernized.

So, after friends and family have experienced William, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to show him my office and home. You see, William never studied feng shui. Suddenly, at midlife at the age of 42 years old, he just woke up one day and could read the energies of the area, see dwarfs or spirits present there. What I liked about the whole experience was that everything was done very intuitively... with William’s head and hands, acting like a dowsing rod, shake strongly when he picked up energies. He described situations and people’s states who were inhabiting the office areas and cubicles, carefully pointing out correctional things to do or objects to add or take away to best help harmonize the energies of the area. He quickly picked up spirit presences, too.

In the past, I had refrained from listening to feng shui practitioners because all those who have crossed my path were too “learned” and very “mental,” where knowledge came from books. And though there is nothing wrong with this, in my book, nothing beats the raw talent of sensing.

William gave me a tip. When you look for a feng shui practitioner to help you, he said, you must never tell him what is the problem. Just listen to him first. Let him go see the space rather than allow him to pick up hints from you.

Wiliam helps property developers design spaces before these are constructed, already preparing a harmonious space for the community of people who will buy the units.  He studies each room in the plan. He says that each area has its own energy even if they all share one main opening and are part of one building. William is especially mindful of looking for star apple (caimito) trees near properties and when he does see them, promptly tells owners to uproot them. He believes that bad spirits like this tree and has seen so many cases where the presence of these trees brought bad luck to the owners. He recounts to me how, in one mining area, when the community came together, there were close to 100 children who were mongoloid, sickly with polio or were special children, all between five and 15 years old. Not only must there have been something wrong with the mines, but William point to the presence of star apple trees as the root of a high case of special children in one community.

People look to feng shui to solve problems, give them more wealth and all good things possible. While these help, and practitioners like William use their gift to help people... I still believe nothing beats the process of trying to make one’s life more balanced, peaceful and happy through inner transformative work and outer positive action. After all, it is us who inhabit the space and charge it with energy.
