“Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.” — Demosthenes
Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, the luxury hotel of choice in the Queen City of the South, recently hosted the social event of the season as seven of Cebu’s loveliest debutantes were introduced to high society in stunning gowns made by members of the Fashion Council of Cebu (FCC). Adorned with pink blooms and satin sheets, the hotel’s massive grand ballroom was the venue of the exclusive gathering. Marco Polo Cebu’s indefatigable GM Hans Hauri, together with his lovely wife Bo, led the festivities of the enchanting evening. The proceeds of the event will go to the FCC’s various charities.
Congratulations!
They are now MADE!
Through the years, the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) national competition has earned a reputation for being a launchpad for promising young artists. Presented by Metrobank Foundation in partnership with Metrobank Card Corp. represented by its dashing president Tony Maughan and Federal Land’s debonair president Alfred Ty, MADE’s culminating bash drew record crowds, gathering a vibrant mix of artists, society mavens, cultural advocates, business leaders and diplomats at the Le Pavillon. Guests enjoyed cocktails and interacted with the MADE honorees. Even the guests of honor, Hong Jong-Ki of Korea and Asha Dvitiyananda of Thailand, were not immune to the collector’s bug. The Korean ambassador snapped up two oil paintings, while the outgoing Thai ambassador brought home Bigayan, a MADE Special Citation in Sculpture.
Bravo MADE!
