 Wilcon Builders Supply and Depot, the country’s leader in home building needs, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary party dubbed Building the Future in the 21st Century. Visionary Wilcon president and CEO William Belo, assisted by hardworking EVP and COO Rosemarie Bosch Ong, welcomed special friends, architects, interior designers and top echelons of the construction industry to the spacious NBC Tent in Taguig for a night of glitz, glamour and jubilation.

Seen gracing the event were Wilcon supporters Steve Chien and Bruce Chien of HCG Phils. Corp., Surasak Kraiwitchaicharoen and Nampol Malichai of Mariwasa Siam Ceramics, Inc., Lino Bernardo of American Standard and Axel Brandner of ABC Phils. The 30 monthly winners for September of Trenta Fiesta were announced and the event culminated with the grand draw of a brand new BMW 316i.

The splendid evening was Wilcon’s way of thanking its numerous supporters in making it the huge success that it is today. Wilcon Builders Depot also launched a design competition for professional and student interior designers in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers. Officially marking its opening were realtor Gerry Contreras, PIID internal VP Jiro Estaniel and PIID external VP Belen Morey.

Congratulations to Wilcon Builders Supply and Depot for having 30 wonderful years in the industry.

Johnny’s wine of the week

This week, your columnist recommends Ramon Bilbao Gran Reserva. This extraordinary wine contains 90 percent Tempranillo, 10 percent Mazuelo and Graciano grapes. It has the color of red ruby with hints of brick red on the rim. The subtle fruity aromas have evolved into pear, plum and apple compote. The wood hints are very fine, with notes of cigar-box cedar wood. In the mouth, it is subtle, elegant and very complex. This splendid wine is aged in American oak barrels for 30 months. Ideal with red meats and cheeses.
