A musical birthday

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Bart Forbes
Tessie Amparo recently celebrated her birthday at the Turf Room of the Manila Polo Club with a fund raiser for Michael Angelo Lobrin, a seminarian from San Carlos seminary. The well-attended affair included a Mass celebrated by Father Noel. Guests were entertained by award-winning singer Alexie Edralin who sang both Philippine classics and Broadway hits. The surprise of the evening, however, was former Solicitor General Frank Chavez, who gallantly accommodated the celebrants request by singing a number of songs in his own inimitable style that left the normally sophisticated female guests swooning and begging for more.
A wonderful and charitable way to celebrate a birthday, dear Tessie! Many many more!
Music performers of different genres will unite to battle the modern day scourge that is cancer in a concert entitled Rock & Jam with RJ and friends. Rock legend Ramon "RJ" Jacinto will be joined, among others, by jazz masters Richard Merck, Vince Lahorra and Lynn Sherman; acoustic stars Pido and Paolo Santos; and violinist extraordinaire Jong Cuenco in an event aimed at increasing awareness for the prevention of cancer. The concert will be on Wednesday, Oct. 25, starting at 7 p.m., at the RJTV Bar in Bel-Air, Makati City.
