STAR Dream Girl: Selena Antonio

Twenty-year-old Selena Alexis Antonio, sans the earrings and makeup, is a picture of simplicity. She is not at all tempted to wear a pair of earrings. "Maybe my parents thought I was a boy so they didn’t have my ear pierced when I was a child," she jokes. Of course, it can’t be true. With her beautiful face and whistlebait figure, who would dare question her sultry sophistication? Add to this her long, flawless legs.

Her joys are likewise simple. "I love hanging out in Glorietta to kill time when I have long breaks in school. My shopping haven would be Greenhills and Cubao because there are a lot of cheap stuff in the tiangges."

Half-Spanish, half-Filipino Selena is the second child of aquaculturist Luis and environmentalist Lisa Inez (nee Crisostomo). This pasta-lover is also into different sports. "I’ve done almost every sport you could possibly name. I play badminton or tennis during free time," says the 5' 6.5" lady.

Selena is no neophyte in the modeling industry. She has joined the Ford Supermodel of the World and has done ramp and print modeling for various brands. "I like modeling because they dress you up into a whole new you." Selena plans to take modeling seriously and fulfill her dream of becoming a flight attendant after her Early Childhood Education course in an exclusive school in Makati. Her passion for teaching has to wait until she settles down and is already financially able to put up her own pre-school.

Selena, who speaks a little of Spanish, believes that teaching is touching lives. "I love teaching and taking care of kids. I love watching over them. I’m very relaxed when I’m with my young cousins," adds Selena, who admits she can’t live without lip gloss, a cellphone and bottled water.

Her kindheartedness extends to her friends and loved ones. She tends to keep letters, gifts and tokens her friends gave her. "I also love my pet guinea pig, which has been with me for four years now."

To Selena, a STAR Dream Girl is "someone who possesses the physical beauty of an ideal person but also exudes a heart of gold." Jerni May H. Camposano
