STAR Dream Girl: Tracy Abad
July 16, 2006 | 12:00am
She lights up your weekday afternoons and joins you for lunch on Sundays. No, shes not beside you on the table. She does this by playing your favorite songs or by just simply speaking her heart out. Shes a disc jockey at 99.5 RT, one of Manilas hit radio stations.
Ma. Camille Therese Abad, or Tracy to her friends, can still brighten up your day even if shes not on air. As a matter of fact, her ambition in life is to be able to touch and inspire peoples lives. This is the very same reason why she finished a degree in Communications, major in Communication Management from the Assumption College. "Ive always wanted to reach out to people," says Tracy, the only daughter of businessman Antonio Abad and his wife Dulce, a professor at the Ateneo.
"No day like today," Tracy, 23, gushes of her guiding principle in life. "I got it from the play Rent. It taught me to give 100 percent in everything I do and also to be grateful for what God has been continuously giving me." Her basket of blessings consists of TV commercials for Coke, Greenwich and Cream Silk; print ads for certain banks and a few ramp modeling projects; great bonding time with her loved ones; and being part of Manilas Five Loveliest Foundation.
"Being the only daughter and the youngest, I have the best of both worlds being mommys girl on one hand and daddys girl on the other. I went to Cebu once and I loved it! I snorkeled with my dad and swam with my mom. I felt peace and enjoyed every minute of it," Tracy relates of one of her most memorable trips.
As a model, the 5' 71/2" looker wants nothing to get in the way of her yet budding career. She is a professional and hates to keep people waiting. She has an infectious enthusiasm and is easy to work with. Her beauty advice: "Get enough sleep! Be positive and put a smile on your face as you start your day."
Determined and driven, Tracy is sure to make her parents proud. "I want to continue honing my skills and competence as a communicator. In the process, I want to keep inspiring people," she shares.
To her, a STAR Dream Girl is "someone who possesses a combination of knowledge, competence, personality and concern for others." Jerni May Camposano
