STAR Dream Girl: Danielle Marianne Mendoza

Sweet and sassy Danielle Marianne "Danie" Mendoza has the allure of an Oriental beauty – chinky eyes, porcelain complexion, irresistible charm and looks that could enchant many a man’s heart.

Nineteen-year-old Danie, the daughter of businessman Eddie and Daisy (neé Espiritu), is an Interdisciplinary Studies junior at the Ateneo de Manila University. Danie wants to pursue fashion design in New York after college.

"I enjoy traveling with my family," shares Danie, who was amazed by the historical wonders of Vigan in one of her trips to the north.

With her sunny disposition and vibrant personality, it comes as no surprise that Danie has found her place under the firmament of bright lights. She has an impressive list of TV commercials under her name and has graced fashion editorials of teen magazines.

Yet she stays focused and knows what she wants and how to get it. Once torn between a commercial casting and a final exam, Danie prioritized her academics because she believes in investing in education. "Modeling is like a ‘plus,’ it opens doors for opportunities, but I have to set my goals."

Danie gets through a morally challenged world by keeping herself busy with her charismatic organization. "The group exposes me to socio-civic works. Being with the organization entails responsibility." Danie confesses she’s afraid of what lies ahead of her so she makes the most out of everything and seizes opportunities that come her way.

Danie, who is of Spanish and Chinese lineage, enjoys tempura and vegetables, and dislikes junk food. A self-confessed shop-till-you-drop gal, she hangs out in the mall to reduce her stress after a hard day’s work.

To Danie, a STAR Dream Girl is "someone who exudes physical and inner beauty." – Jerni May Camposano
