Statistics shows that supermodel measurements are more than a stones throw away from reality. Apparently the sub 17.5 BMI (Body Mass Index) stick-thin beauties have is also the BMI of typical eight-year-olds which is also practically the same as that of the Third World starvation BMI criteria and the American Psychological Association weight criteria for anorexia nervosa. So, really, heres an eye-opener: The idea of beauty in media may just be totally misleading and yes, it is quite normal to have that extra inch or two around your waist or thigh after all, we all cant be starving supermodels. The bottom line is, it really shouldnt be a bother that youre not as tall as a giraffe and looking great isnt all about looking like one.
It all boils down to dressing up according to your body type, personality and what youre comfortable with. You can camouflage, accentuate, elongate and slim down practically any body part you want to and look great doing so. Here are a few tips:
Jeans, jeans, jeans and more jeans are the absolute classic for casual wear. It has earned for itself a position on the must-have list of every woman around the globe, moving up from being the typical mineworkers everyday garb. You can either look casual during the day or show up at a party looking effortlessly chic in dressed up denim.
Although many glamorous fashion looks have been inspired by the layering of clothes, the tropical heat in this country will only make you sweat your makeup away.
There are a few simple rules to get the best out of your figure. But take note, each womans body is different and rules dont have to be followed right down to every detail all the time. Experimenting with your clothes and their fit is a great idea and later on, once you discover what really works for you, you can adapt to the clothes and style according to how you feel. Remember that confidence is key and counts for a lot. So if there are a few bulges here and there, as long as youre ok with it, go ahead and strut your stuff. Also, take your personality into consideration. No matter how good an outfit may look on you, it simply just wont work if youre not comfortable in it. Personal style is very different from fashion.
Height is something not most women have, but having both height and curves is a double blessing in itself.
