The Chamber of Pawnbrokers of the Philippines Inc. (CPPI), led by its president Louis Ablaza Jr. and board, celebrated its 59th anniversary with a special gathering and induction ceremony for newly elected board of directors at the Main Lounge of the Manila Polo Club.
In his welcome remarks, Ablaza urged young Filipino entrepreneurs to invest in businesses that will help spur the economy. He also acknowledged the presence of guest of honor, then Finance Secretary Cesar Purisma as well as Supreme Court Justice Reynato Puno, who swore in the incoming CPPI officers and directors.
Members of the diplomatic corps, high-ranking government officials and business leaders were among those who made up the exclusive guest list.
Congratulations and more power to the CPPI as it approaches its diamond year!
The sumptuous meal prepared by guest Ophie Bakker and Narda’s children Teodoro, Jose Ramon, Marissa and Chacha was followed by entertainment from the guests themselves. Among those seen singing the night away were ambassadors and consuls who expressed their love and support for their dear friend, Deborah, who will leave for her new post in Geneva.
