Happy Mothers Day!
Theres a new hot spot south of the metro. The Bellevue Hotel, Alabangs best-kept secret (but not for long, just you wait and see!), is the only business hotel in the area offering superb food, stylish appointments and enjoyable entertainment at affordable prices. The hotel pays homage to moms with its Mothers Day Special Buffet, a promo available only today. It treats diners to a special lunch buffet at P650 and a flavorful dinner buffet at P750.
Meanwhile, fresh faces of the Snapshots Talent Casting Agency hobnobbed with casters, media representatives and friends at the Ciboney Bar in Malate. Themed events and projects for the year were announced at the cocktail dinner that featured beautiful people and flowing drinks.
Speaking of construction, Federal Hardware, the most complete one-stop builders center, celebrates women this Mothers Day. Recognizing that more and more women take charge in the construction of their own homes, Federal Hardware strives to cater to their discriminating tastes with the Federal Design Expo. It is a superstore which will house the widest variety of stylish furniture and other home accessories by the second quarter of 2003.
Moving on to history and politics, the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines launched a coffee-table book entitled Spanning the Decades 1902-2002 which tells the story of the relationship between Filipinos and Americans.
Reunions being aplenty this summertime, the high school class 53 of St. Theresas College Manila celebrated their golden jubilee with Theresians Onstage, a two-part program that featured their singing and dancing prowess.
In another side of the metro, another exciting reunion was organized by the super efficient Rita Dy of Singapore Airlines for the participants of their Turkish familiarization tour. The affair was graced by former ambassador of Turkey Erhan Yigitbasioglu and incumbent ambassador Tanju Sumer. The group huddled at the Mandarins superb Tin Hau restaurant, a place known for its fabulous food and excellent service.
Socialite and philanthropist Meldy Cojuangco hosted an intimate lunch for jetsetter Nene Quimson. Ever-generous Meldy also granted scholarships to 20 UP students through the J. Moreno Foundation and capped the occasion with an elegant dinner with bosom buddies Nene, Pitoy Moreno, Vicky Quirino Delgado and Nelly Gonzalez.
Belated happy birthday to Lucia "Letty" Tan, May 4; Elisa Crisostomo-Reyes, May 5; Greg Jarabata, May 9; and Edgar Medina, May 10.
Advance birthday greetings to golf champion May Neri, svelte Joyce Meer and Carolina Cruz, May 12; Cora Medina, May 13; elegant lady Ching Montinola, Eloy Yan, Lizette Cojuangco, Annette Lee, Vicky Garcia and Ballroom Dancing Queen Becky Garcia, May 14; Rosarito Agustines, May 16; Gloria del Rio, Zita Feliciano, Alice Reyes, former Secretary Rafael Alunan, columnist Resty Vergara and Teyet Pascual, May 17.
Whew! And who says Manila is boring? See you around, folks!
