Ageless beauty, anyone?

"Our character is constantly under construction, a process that is sometimes very painful."

The secret of eternal youth has always been a fascinating topic. New developments in research worldwide attest to this.

Manila’s ageless créme de la créme were thrilled when Natropin, said to be modern science’s version of the fountain of youth, was recently unveiled at the exclusive Tower Club’s Murano Room.

"Being ageless is a state of mind, but retaining one’s youthful vigor and looks still takes some effort and work," said Marjorie Lopingco, president of Beauty Exponents International, Asia-Pacific distributor of Natropin.

Marjorie, one of the country’s pioneers in the health and wellness market, co-hosted the dinner with your columnist. Established in 1990, her company operates and manages major spas in the country including those in Celebrity Sports Plaza, The Bellevue Hotel and Makati Golf Club.

"My most recent venture is introducing Natropin to the Philippine market. It’s a cutting-edge, science-based anti-aging program for people on the elusive quest of being ageless," Marjorie said in her introductory speech. "I discovered Natropin while on a business trip in the US and was so impressed with the results, I decided to bring it over."

Since 1990, studies published in medical journals show these benefits of Natropin: increased energy level; improved immune system; increased exercise and sports performance; reduction in body fat and promotion of weight loss; increased bone density; lower blood pressure; improved cardiac and lung functions; increased muscle mass; improved skin texture, elasticity and thickness; and improved sexual function.

Bringing growth hormone levels to that of our youth has astonishing effects on adults. Dr. Jose Oreta of St. Luke’s Medical Center said, "The key to aging lies in our pituitary gland. In our youth, this gland produced an abundance of growth hormone. However, as we age, our pituitary gland’s production of this vital hormone is diminished. The Natropin Rejuvenation therapy works by stimulating our pituitary gland to bring growth hormone release and absorption as it did in our youth. It thus slows the aging process."

Your columnist helped Marjorie explain the benefits of Natropin to the exclusive guest list that included Togo Consul Evie Costa; Rep. Ed Zialcita; Trees Company owners Boy and Monette Guevarra; Cinnabon’s Jean Pierre and Lally Etroit; Dr. Jose Oreta’s lovely wife, Dr. Concepcion Ilao-Oreta; Florante Aguila; Construction Queen Celia Cuasay; Bambina Buenaventura; producer/director Jeric Soriano; former DOTC Secretary Josie Lichauco; printing magnate Chit Gohu; FCCP’s Boysie Villavicencio; jewelers Tereret Tambunting-Liboro and Andy Liboro; PSCM president Dr. Evangeline Handog; Singapore Airlines’ Rita Dy; and PR lady Joyce Antonio Ramirez.

The premiere gala menu started with a serving of Tower Club’s ceasar salad with aged parmesan crisp and garlic croutons, shortly followed by an exquisite Tamarind Flavored Fish Consommé with young vegetables and tiger shrimp. The main dish was a choice between Simmered Veal Tenderloin in Orange Mini Sauce and/or Tuna, Salmon and Prawns Trio with Lemon Butter Sauce set on Dried Fruits Risotto. A dessert combination of Tapioca Tiramisu Delight with Lemon Verbana Granite capped off the evening’s meal.

It’s Japanese and it’s Pinoy
Pinoydon, the hottest resto in town, started serving Japanese-Filipino fast-food fusion at its main outlet at Dish in Rockwell, then opened its first branch at Level 5 of the Podium Mall in Ortigas Center. Now, the hugely successful Pinoydon has opened another branch at Robinson’s Place Manila.

Famous band Stephen Speaks had their lunch in Pinoydon after a hectic day of meeting fans and shopping at the mall courtesy of Pinoydon partner Alain Panlilio. Also seen enjoying the mouthwatering donburi were Shaan Bermudez, Deanne Montoya and basketball heartthrob Vince Hizon.

The success of the Filipino donburi and other specialties gave rise to this latest branch at the Pedro Gil Wing of Robinson’s Place. Soon, diners at Eastwood Cybermall will be able to sample Pinoydon’s exciting dishes. Pinoydon also offers Pinoy Bento, a complete Pinoy meal for only P99.

Congratulations, Pinoydon and more branches to come!
