Welcome home, dear friend!

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Sextus Propertius
International jetsetter and philanthropist Nene Quimson, wife of the late ambassador to the Court of St. James, John Quimson, was given a bienvenida party by amiable business magnate, Washington "Wash" Sycip in his beautiful home in North Forbes.
Stylish Nene, wearing a gorgeous poncho-inspired ensemble, touched base with friends old and new, recounting happy times spent in England, Florida and New York. Host Wash was not to be outdone; he wore a sleek Chinese-themed Indonesian batik of pure silk.
The gathering was a treat for the senses. The party started with cocktails that had waiters passing around assorted canapés complemented with chilled champagne and crisp dry wines. Dinner followed with Sopa de Mariscos; Angel Hair Pomodoro with Ham and Mushroom; Steak Ala Pobre with Broccoli and Cauliflower Flowerette with Mini Young Potato. We didnt resist the Mango Jubilee offered to us for dessert. A toast followed and wine poured as glasses clinked!
Our ears were filled with angelic voices of the UP Singing Ambassadors with conductor Ed Manguiat who wooed us with magical music.
Some of the beautiful people who graced the event were Judy Roxas; Ambassador Isabel Wilson; Betty Siy-Yap; Starbucks Eduardo Lopez; and lawyer Amor Roselle Herrera, among many others.
We hope that Nene enjoyed the night as much as we did. Your dear friends will always welcome you back with the same warmth and kindness you have given us, dear Nene!
Greetings
Advanced birthday greetings to Tessie Daza and Dinah Dominguez, Feb. 10; super talented TV exec/director Johnny Manahan and Knit Queen Lulu Tan-Gan, Feb. 11; Tony Lorenzana, Feb. 12; golfer Henri Muzzarelli, Feb. 13; and former Sen. Juan Ponce-Enrile, Feb. 14.
So, how was your week?
