A hardware store may seem an unlikely venue for a rousing party, but that’s exactly what happened recently at Federal Hardware, the one-stop home builder’s dream destination when it formally launched its flagship store in Makati. Prominent members of the business, social and diplomatic communities graced the event which turned into a lively night of thanksgiving, partying and sharing a vision.
Located along Makati’s busy Don Chino Roces Avenue, the country’s largest fully air-conditioned hardware was transformed into a cool and brightly lit indoor cocktail venue. The night began with the blessing of the 4,000-square meter store. This was followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremonies led by architects Willie Yu, Robert Sac, Domingo Chua and Roger Villarosa and interior designers, sisters Ivy and Cynthia Almario, to name a few.
The party emceed by yours truly also honored famed designers Cynthia and Ivy Almario of the Atelier-Almario Architects and Designers Corp. The duo is said to take charge in the complete renovation and design of the newly-acquired 12,000-square meter property just right beside the existing Federal Hardware-Makati branch which will be transformed into Federal Design Expo.
The night’s main event was a preview of Federal Hardware’s plans for the upcoming year. Company president Jeffrey Ng in his brief introductory speech enthusiastically announced Federal Hardware’s plans to open 12 new branches in 2003. Following his speech, renowned interior designer Ivy Almario announced future plans for the Federal Design Expo and gave a short presentation of what shoppers can soon expect from Federal’s latest addition to convenient total hardware shopping experience.
As elaborated by Ivy Almario in her speech, Federal Design Expo will complete the needs of anyone who is into the building or renovation of their homes through the inclusion of tasteful furniture and home accessories which can only be found at the Design Expo. The Federal Design Expo will open its doors and serve the public by next year.
Among the distinguished guests who mingled as they enjoyed the delicious cocktails were the wife of the Ambassador of Canada, Marilyn Collette; Consul Evie Costa; architect Jorge Ramos; former DOT Secretary Gemma Cruz-Araneta; former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit and Che Singson; jetsetter Mayenne Carmona; construction queen Celia Cuasay; Rep. Anna Periquet; Dresdner Bank’s chief representative Cesar Virtusio; China Trust Bank vice chairman William Go; socialite Ching Cruz; Drs. Victor and Minguita Padilla-Lopez; Henry and Jojo Zabarte; lawyer Koko and Jewel Pimentel; DENR’s Cora Claudio; restaurateur Jack Rodriguez; Fort Bonifacio Development Corp. SVP Charlie Rufino; Dasmariñas Village Home Owners Association vice president Backie Celdran; and Urdaneta Village Home Owners Association president Rudy Cuenca. Moise regaled guests with his inimitable style. In a surprise appearance, the Loboc Children’s Choir brought in by esteemed Bohol Gov. Erico Aumentado entranced the crowd.
Besides enjoying topnotch entertainment, guests were issued their very own Federal SmartCard which entitled them to discounts in their purchases. Lucky guests went home with raffle prizes from Eurotiles, HCG, Royal Tern and Astoria Plaza, to name a few. Everyone also went home with tool boxes filled with goodies. Shoppers certainly have much to look forward to at Federal Hardware.
Adhering to the US-style retailing concept, Federal Hardware recently signed a partnership deal with Orgill Inc., one of America’s biggest hardware distributors.
