Black is beautiful
August 4, 2002 | 12:00am
Oh yeah! Black dominates (again) the Fall 2002 runways. After taking a quick back seat during summerblack has arrived with a big bang! This time the looksbeautiful meets bitchy, glam meets rock and roll, and sophisticated meets Gothare all clever twists of flirt and function. But what makes black truly magical is the wonder it does to every womans (and mans) figure. It makes one appear slimmer, sexier and taller. Wearing all black frames your face nicely. In black, you can create different looks, too. You can achieve drama with a velvet crystal-encrusted dress with deep V-neckline, just like the one from YSL Rive Gauche Fall 2002 Collection or with an Auggie Cordero creation.
Look like a rebel in kick-ass long boots, preferably one of Alexander McQueens lace-up-the-back boots or your old Doc Martens. Look elegant in a Ralph Lauren long gown or an Inno Sotto creation. Go for glam in a Versace dress or a dressy top from U store in Rustans. Be incognito in a Barbara Buis black pointy cap or a black ski cap bought from ShoeMart. Personally, Id like to be in Diesel by Lagerfeld Gallery with its new high-waist jeans, a Hedi Slimane for Dior Homme black long sleeved shirt, any Anya Hindmarch bag and a pair of Rudolphe Menudier flats, for an urban eclectic look.
Go ahead, be who you want to be in black!
