Catriona Gray, Michelle Dee, Celeste Cortesi reveal undergoing liposuction
MANILA, Philippines — Beauty queens Catriona Gray, Michelle Dee, and Celeste Cortesi got candid about undergoing liposuction in the past.
They shared their experiences with liposuction in an event hosted by celebrity doctor Vicki Belo for her Body Reset Program.
Liposuction, commonly shortened to lipo, is a cosmetic procedure done to remove fat from the body in areas they are deposited.
Catriona began by admitting doing several treatments because she wanted to tone and tighten her body, including liposuction in the back of her arms.
Vicki quipped about Catriona's admission, pointing out that at the time, the Miss Universe 2018's arms were indeed bigger than the rest of her body. The procedure helped boost the beauty queen's confidence.
Celeste then followed, joking the event was a "revelation day," with her experience of undergoing liposuction several days before she flew to the United States to compete in Miss Universe 2022 (held in January 2023).
She shared that the celebrity doctor suggested that she could do a lipo on the back of her arms because those were the areas where Celeste's fats were being deposited.
The doctor expounded that the encounter was two weeks before the competition, and two weeks was the minimum alloted time for the entire procedure.
Contestants were already busy with activities a week before coronation night, and it was fortunate for Celeste because she was healed in three days after the procedure.
Vicki's husband and fellow doctor Hayden Kho quickly jumped in to advise people not to try it at home.
Michelle, Celeste's successor, ended with her experience by also quipping about being a "day of confessions."
Michelle said after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 title, her waistline was at around 27 inches, and admitted to undergoing lipo in her back in small areas around the waist.
The beauty queen added that people will notice the difference if they compared her photos during the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant to her performance at the Miss Universe 2023 coronation night, where she finished in the Top 10.
Other celebrities who have admitted to undergoing liposuction include Janella Salvador, Jennylyn Mercado, Ruffa Gutierrez, Angeline Quinto, and Alodia Gosiengfiao.
