Recipe: Spanish Tapas called Patatas Bravas
MANILA, Philippines — Patatas Bravas is a dish native to Spain. It is sometimes referred to as Patatas a la Brava or Papas Bravas, but it is all the same.
Named after a Spanish term that means “spicy potatoes,” Patatas Bravas is a type of Spanish Tapas, or small plates, that people in Spain enjoy in bars before having actual dinner.
To recreate the Spanish Patatas Bravas, Home Foodie and San Miguel Pure Foods Culinary Center shares this easy-to-follow recipe of the crispy fried potatoes drizzled with spicy red “brava” sauce on top.
Patatas Bravas
Ingredients:
1 cup cooking oil
300 grams potatoes, peeled and sliced
1/3 cup Magnolia Real Mayonnaise
1 tbsp. paprika
1 pack (120 grams) Magnolia Cheese Squeeze Pimiento Spread
Procedure:
1. In a pan, fry potatoes in oil until golden brown. Drain off excess oil on paper towels.
2. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise with paprika.
3. Transfer potatoes to a serving dish. Top with mayonnaise and cheese sauce.
