Elegance and grandeur took center stage at the Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines (JSSP) gala concert held at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La, Manila in Makati City. Under the helm of the organizing committee led by JSSP chairman Monaco Consul General Dr. Fortune Ledesma, president Olga Martel, vice president and event co-chairperson Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa, treasurer and event chairperson Virginia Lane, director and event co-chairperson Marissa Fenton, and director Fanny Blanco, the meaningful affair was a celebration of the organization’s 26th year of nurturing and enhancing the love and appreciation of music as well as fostering the cultural ties between the Philippines and Austria.
The opulent setup, adorned with vibrant red roses on tables draped with black and white lace, set the tone for a night of soulful masterpieces by Austrian, German, and Italian composers. Meanwhile, guests were truly mesmerized with the captivating performances of the angelic soprano Alexa Isobel Kaufman and seasoned tenor Christian Nagaño.
