The Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines (JSSP), led by chairman Monaco consul general Dr. Fortune Ledesma and president Olga Martel, hosted a mesmerizing dinner event in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy Manila at the ambassador’s residence, featuring the musical prowess of Isabela Samson Madero, ARSM.
Under the gracious welcome of the Austrian Ambassador to the Philippines, Johann Brieger and wife, madam Roswitha, the concert showcased a delightful repertoire and the harmonious collaboration of Isabela on vocals, accompanied by Mary Anne Espina on piano and Ramoncito Carpio on guitar.
The affair was made more memorable as the spotlight was also given to non-profit organization HearLife Verein and Austrian company MED-EL, who have been continuously working together in paving opportunities for deaf children in the Philippines to hear. The former, established by Filipina Maribel Mueller in honor of her late husband, Georg Mueller, who brought cochlear implantation here to the country, provides wholistic and science-based after-implant programs to develop and optimize hearing, speech and language acquisition of deaf children.
Meanwhile, the latter is the leading hearing implant company established by Dr. Ingeborg Hochmair and husband, Prof. Erwin Hochmair, creators of the first micro-electronic multi-channel cochlear implant in the world. A sumptuous dinner was shared by everyone after indulging in the remarkable musical experience.
