Respected philanthropist, socio-civic leader, and climate-change champion Mache Torres-Ackerman was honored with a one-of-a-kind fundraising event organized by well-known chef Jessie Sincioco, who was inducted as well as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Makati Business District (RCMBD).
Held at The Rockwell Club’s Palm Grove in Rockwell Center, Makati City, the meaningful gathering was held to honor the lovely and generous, multi-faceted woman and to raise funds for various causes she supports, including Globe’s The Hapag Movement (together with RCMBD), climate-change programs, and the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City.
Chef Jessie and her team put together a sumptuous feast for the guests named the Globe Hapag Meal, wherein 50 percent of the cost will be donated to the hunger alleviation program The Hapag Movement.
At the affair were Mache’s family, led by her ever-supportive husband David and daughter Emilia, her closest friends, and prominent names from the diplomatic, business, and social circles.
As an advocate for social responsibility, Mache has been actively involved in various charitable organizations and has made significant contributions for the betterment of society. She has also been appointed as the Climate Change Ambassador by Climate Change Commission (CCC) commissioner Albert Dela Cruz and will lead Climate Change Week and related activities in November. This successful fundraising event was a testament to her selfless spirit and commitment to helping others, as well as a reminder that everyone can make a difference, one act of kindness at a time.
