International luxury brand Jewelmer continued its golden journey together with the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) Organization, as the former served as the latter’s pearl sponsor for the second consecutive year.

The pageant, which advocates female empowerment and confidence, aligns perfectly with the values embodied by the golden South Sea pearl, the country’s national gem and the centerpiece of the maison’s collections.

As part of the pre-pageant activities, the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 delegates had the privilege of visiting Jewelmer’s pearl farm in Palawan and immersed themselves in the world of the golden South Sea pearl and its rich Filipino heritage.

The road to the highly coveted crown culminated during the coronation night attended by esteemed guests, including Miss Universe Organization (MUO) president Paula Shugart, reigning Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel, and Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, who all wore several of Jewelmer’s finest pieces.

Finally, the eagerly anticipated moment arrived, as Michelle Marquez Dee of Makati was named Miss Universe Philippines 2023 and bestowed the exquisite Jewelmer’s La Mer en Majesté crown — a one-of-a-kind creation embellished with golden South Sea pearls symbolizing the harmony between man, nature, and Filipinos working together in pursuit of excellence.

Meanwhile, two breathtaking tiaras inspired by Jewelmer’s La Mer en Majesté collection were unveiled post-coronation and crowned Miss Supranational Philippines 2023 Pauline Amelinckx of Bohol and Miss Charm Philippines 2024 Krishnah Gravidez of Baguio.

The Miss Universe Organization and Jewelmer share a common vision of celebrating nature, beauty, femininity, strength, and community, all embodied by the radiant golden South Sea pearl and the resilient, powerful woman it represents.

An evening of heartfelt delights

Amid the elegant ambiance and the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen of Chef Jessie Rockwell Club restaurant in Makati City, your humble columnist was truly happy as several of my closest friends, fondly dubbed “the JL & Co. Group,” attended the exclusive dinner organized by yours truly.

From the meticulously crafted dishes — which were my personal favorites — to the heartfelt conversations shared, I found myself overwhelmed with gratitude and touched by the genuine affection of those in attendance. With much laughter, clinking glasses, and sumptuous flavors, it was an evening that will forever hold a cherished place in my heart.

A beaming birthday bash for baby

The well-loved Baby De Jesus hosted a memorable birthday celebration held at the Santuario de San Antonio Parish Social Hall in Makati City that left guests in awe.

Known for her unwavering dedication to philanthropy and her involvement with prestigious organizations such as Zonta Club of Manila and Catholic Women’s Club, Baby was joined by a constellation of her dearest friends and companions. The gathering showcased the power of camaraderie and the bonds forged through shared endeavors.

To further liven up the celebration, the captivating tunes of the Marcy David Band set the mood and kept the guests grooving throughout the night.
