Tips in handling the madding Christmas shopping rush

MANILA, Philippines - Here are some tips for those who have yet to do their shopping with eight more days to go until Christmas.
Do the list. Don't just jot down the names of the people you shall be giving gifts to, but organize them in groups as well. For example, put all those you intend to buy gifts from the bookstore under one group, those you plan to get home items in another group, gadgets in another, and so on. This makes it easier for you to pick out items when you enter a particular shop and not have to think if you forgot to buy something for someone while you're in there.
Ditch the heels. Ladies, no matter how comfy you are wearing heels in the office or to a party, it is totally different when you are going from one shop to another during a shopping rush. Add to that the fact that the malls are teeming with people and you may have to stand in line for hours. Wear comfy shoes instead. Aching feet should be the least of your worries during this time.
Drop by the malls or shopping centers early. If you have a whole day to do your shopping this week, do get to the malls as early as possible so you will have more time to visit more shops and choose the best gifts. The crowd may not be as thin as that during non-holidays, but it will surely be not as full as when you get there in the afternoon.
Shop online. If you really have not time to leave the office to do some shopping, maybe it's best to check out the online stores of some of your favorite brands. With just a few clicks and taps, your gift-hunting troubles can disappear. Just make sure that the items will be delivered on time.
Be sure to have a break. Once you're done buying gifts in two or three stores, get a quick bite and relax your heels. It's just one quick way to de-stress before rushing into the frenzy once again.
