Not the final word

This has reference to a published copy of the keynote message of the undersigned during the 1st mid-year convention of the Philippine Society of Stem Cell Medicine which came out in The Philippine STAR on August 14, 2013.

In this regard, let me clarify that the Department of Health did not pay for the subject publication. Also, in the keynote message, there was no mention or any insinuation that the said pronouncement was the “Final Word on Stem Cell.” In fact, the Food and Drug Administration of the Department of Health is open to listen to the stakeholders to assess their positions on the issue of stem cell therapy.

I hope this clarifies any confusion the said ad may have caused the public.
