Lady Bulldogs near SSL three-peat

MANILA, Philippines — National University played steady when La Salle made its biggest challenge in the third set and hacked out a 25-16, 25-12, 27-25, victory yesterday to move on the cusp of claiming a three-peat feat in the Shakey’s Super League at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Camilla Lamina illuminated the Lady Bulldogs’ seamless attack with 15 excellent sets that propelled them to a 1-0 lead in their short best-of-three title showdown.

The reigning UAAP champions will go for the jugular in Game 2 tomorrow. A decider, if necessary, is on Dec. 1.
