Horoscope

May 1, 2004

- Joyce Jillson -
Early this morning, the moon enters Cancer. Projects around the house are favored, especially anything that makes the home more sensually pleasing. The Taurus sun poses strange questions. For instance, why drink instant coffee when you can have fresh ground? Or why have white walls, when colors make you feel so vibrant?

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
. Loyalty should be the first requirement for friends now. Celebrate the gains you make – it sends a message to the universe of grateful acceptance. Money spent on pleasure is not a waste.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20).
Consider what you want for a change. Your desires deserve a fair share of your attention. A casual relationship is the focus this afternoon. Try not to assume you know what others are thinking.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21).
You’d love to have more options – after all, that’s what abundance thinking is all about. Love relationships are going through what could potentially be a tense spot. Admitting a weakness is ultimately strengthening.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).
Emotional flexibility is your special talent, and you could surprise even yourself with the extremes you can go to – you’re like a rubber band! You have a different face for every mood and every occasion. You’ll fit into any situation.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).
There’s a slew of offers from friends, but do you have the time? Pushing a project to the next level requires effort. If you’re not willing to give the time and attention required, consider whether you’re willing to drop the idea altogether.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (May 1).
This year brings tremendous freedom. In the next four weeks, you’ll stretch into new territory. You’ve got passionate energy you can apply to pushing a project through to an impressive completion by the end of May. Romantic offers are numerous through July. Be discerning. Family drama is exciting in August. Leo or Aquarius loves give you their all. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 35, 20, 44 and 1.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).
You’re on a quest for better finances. Look no further than your own social network for leads, ideas and tried-and-true methods for investing and saving. Tonight, your dream world could offer a sneak peak at your future.

LIBRA (Sept.23-Oct.23).
Everyone has his or her own agenda today, so watch out for yours. Tune in to what is really being said under all the rhetoric. Deals go down this afternoon – take nothing personally, and be willing to walk away at any moment.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21)
. One important relationship can change your career direction. Introduce yourself to every new person you come across. It’s best to be very direct about what you want and how you plan to get it.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
You really do understand loved ones and work partners. You know what everyone wants, so now it’s up to you to come up with a brilliant compromise – and you will. This makes your life easier for weeks to come.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).
A project you do with someone who’s unreliable gives you more room to shine. So don’t waste time blaming or trying to motivate people who are basically lazy. Doing a thorough job is the luckiest move you could make.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).
There’s no doubt about it – fitness is sexy. Do something about a lingering unhealthy habit. Gatherings are spiced with the possibility of profitable networking. Don’t let your pursuit of perfection keep you from opportunity.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).
Perplexing passions are featured. This pull you feel to something or somebody new is a sign of growth – your interests are completely different than last month. Just don’t sink money into everything you get excited about.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS:
"My husband, an Aquarius, has been out of work for a year and has had a bumpy career ride for the past four years. I’m a Cancer who has tried to stay optimistic as he has tried to start businesses as well as look for work, but this area does not seem favorable for his career skills. It is getting harder to be positive in the current economic times. We have two young sons, ages 3 and 4. Should he take a job in a part of the country where we don’t care to live, or will our dream of prosperity and living near family eventually occur?"

To both questions, I say yes. A move west will be auspicious for your whole family. Cancers like you hate to move – hate it! But you’re also wonderful at making a new home feel like home quickly. Your husband needs to be in a progressively thinking city. I’m getting a psychic hit on California or Arizona. The former is obviously more connected to technology, and I have no idea why the latter comes up. I call it how it comes to me. You’re a strong woman. Take a leap of faith, and don’t give up on your guy now, when he needs you the most.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Michael Moore challenges American institutions through his films ("Bowling for Columbine," "Roger and Me") and books, most recently with the best seller "Dude, Where’s My Country?" His dogged dedication to his ideals is admirable even by Taurus standards. Most Taurus folks wouldn’t be comfortable kicking up so much dust, but Moore knows he can count on himself to always do what he thinks is right.
